This course builds on students’ previous education and language knowledge to introduce them to the English language. Students will use beginning English language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing for everyday and essential academic purposes. They will engage in short conversations using basic English language structures and simple sentence patterns; read short adapted texts; and write phrases and short sentences.
目标水平:能与熟人进行简短的对话,讨论天气、交通、上课、学习等基本生活话题和学术话题;能理解简单的书面指令、标语和文字;能阅读为英语言学习者改编的短文;能写简短的词组和语句,陈述过去、现在和将来发生的事情。

课程概括:课程针对具备基础英语水平的学习者,旨在进⼀一步提高学生的英语听说读写水平,培养学生在生活中的英语语言运用能力。
This course extends students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in English for everyday and academic purposes. Students will participate in conversations in structured situations on a variety of familiar and new topics; read a variety of texts designed or adapted for English language learners; expand their knowledge of English grammatical structures and sentence patterns; and link English sentences to compose paragraphs.
目标水平:能够拥有中级的英语词汇和语法能力;能够进行正常的社会和礼貌交流,对熟悉的问题能用简单句子表达意见;能够阅读各种浅易的英文短文,包括诗歌、报纸、短文和信息文字;能写作语法较正确的基本段落。

课程概括:英语文化课程–目的是在提高学生英语各项技能的同时,让学生了解基本的西方文化。
This course further extends students’ skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in English for a variety of everyday and academic purposes. Students will make short classroom oral presentations; read a variety of adapted and original texts in English; and write using a variety of text forms. As well, students will expand their academic vocabulary and their study skills to facilitate their transition to the mainstream school program.

课程概括:英语学习技巧–目的是为学生进⼀一步修读学术类英语及应用英语做好准备,同时在C 等级课程的话题基础上适当加深话题的广度和深度。
This course prepares students to use English with increasing fluency and accuracy in classroom and social situations. Students will develop the oral-presentation, reading, and writing skills required for success in all school subjects. They will extend listening and speaking skills through participation in discussions and seminars; study and interpret a variety of grade-level texts; write narratives, articles, and summaries in English; and respond critically to a variety of print and media texts.
目标水平:
扩展学术词汇和语法应用能力;能够进行学术和相对复杂的讨论和辩论;具备⼀一定流利、流畅程度的英语口语能力,能作各种口述报告,例如讨论、演讲、报告等;能阅读学术信息文字,学习和翻译不同类型的学术文章并用英语进行总结;能够对媒体和书面文字进行评论并表达自己的感想;写作方面除了语法正确外,学生能写作基本的信息论文,例如论说、记叙等。

课程概括:课程针对已具有坚实英语基础的学生需要:拓展英语话题讨论和理解范围;扩展语法知识并加强语法的运用;扩充词汇量和词汇知识;提高口语的流利度和准确性;能参与学术讨论或辩论;能阅读各种类型的学术文章;能撰写信息量较大的学术论文、信函和演讲稿。
This course provides students with the skills and strategies they need to make the transition to college and university preparation courses in English and other secondary school disciplines. Students will be encouraged to develop independence in a range of academic tasks. They will participate in debates and lead classroom workshops; read and interpret literary works and academic texts; write essays, narratives, and reports; and apply a range of learning strategies and research skills effectively. Students will further develop their ability to respond critically to print and media texts.
